CMRIT Central Library, at the heart of the Campus, provides an ideal environment for intellectual inquiry with its multiple Study Spaces, Research Assistance, and Reading, Learning and Instructional Resources. The State-of-the-Art ICT facilities established to provide much-needed services to support excellence in Teaching, Learning, Research, and Extension. The User-focused facilities and services provide seamless access to resources and to evaluate Scholarly information to learn and create new Knowledge.

The CMRIT Central library spreads over to second floor plus two side wings with an area of 2400 sq.m. Designed in such a way it has natural light over entire day and provides a friendly environment to gain knowledge in an effective manner. Accommodating various facilities, reading and learning resources, and seating arrangements for about 200 Users at any point-of-time. Wi-Fi, Internet access, Electrical plug-in facilities, etc. Digital Learning Resources and Online access to major E-Journals and E-Books on Science and Technology, Management available from VTU Consortia and Developing Library Network (DELNET). KOHA, an Integrated Library Management Software package is used for Library operations and resource sharing among the CMR Group of Institutes Libraries. Institutional Repository (IR), a digital repository of CMRIT Central Library Faculty publications provides access/downloading publications, and other homogeneous data/reports and non- traditional reading material. Centrally well-protected Fire alarms, CCTV surveillance, and RFID Gate provide much-needed security. Qualified, experienced and well trained Library professionals serve the user community with excellence and provide assistance in meeting academic and research information needs.

During Holidays 		7.30am to 4.30
During Weekend and Vacation 	7.30am to 6.00pm
During Examination 		7.30am to 12 midnight

Library Collection:

The CMRIT Central Library is having a collection of 45,000+ documents, subscribing about print journals, and providing access to over 6883 online full- text journals and several abstracting databases. Besides, there are 23843 e-books. The collection consists of Books, Back-volumes of Periodicals. Question Point service: 'Ask a Librarian' service to answer the information queries and reference questions of any users of CMRIT: librarian@cmrit.ac.in

Library Rules:

  1. Strict and absolute silence shall be observed in the Library.
  2. Cell Phone to be switched off inside the Library.
  3. Bags, Big handbags, Raincoat, Jerkin and Casual wears are strictly prohibited inside the library.
  4. Members are requested to keep their belongings at the entrance of the Library. However they are advised not to leave cell phones, purse, money, credit card and other valuables in the handbag outside the library. These items are liable to be lost.
  5. Library users are strictly prohibited from taking the borrowed and stamped books again inside the library.
  6. If the due date falls on a holiday for the Library, the next working day will be taken as the due date.
  7. Books will not be issued to members on the ID card of others.
  8. If any book is lost or damaged beyond repair, the person responsible shall replace it with a new copy or pay double the cost of the recent price and handling charges or as may be decided by the librarian.
  9. Membership Cards are not transferable. Books will not be issued to students on the Membership Card of staff members.
  10. Books will be issued subject to availability only.
  11. No sub-lending of books is permitted.
  12. Any kind of marking, underlining, or clipping of books is absolutely forbidden. Readers shall be held responsible for any damage done to the book belonging to the Library and shall be required to replace such book or pay the value thereof.
  13. Absence from the college will not be allowed as an excuse for the delay in the return of books.
  14. Under special circumstances, the Librarian may refuse the issue of books or recall the books already issued from any member without assigning any reason thereof.
  15. The following conditions are to be followed for the renewal of books.s [i] The book has to be produced in the Library for renewal. [ii] More than one renewal will not be allowed.
  16. The Borrower will be responsible for any loss or non-return of any books issued against his / her original (or) duplicate ID Card.
  17. No reminders will be issued to individuals but a consolidated list of defaulters will be displayed in the library notice board.
  18. New books and journals received will be on display for a week.
  19. The borrower will be responsible for any loss or non-return of any books issued against his / her original (or) duplicate Library Member ID Card.
  20. Reference books, Newspapers, Magazines, Journals should not be taken out.
  21. The Library may accept donations of manuscripts, books, periodicals etc. from the donors. Such donations once accepted will become the absolute property of the college.
  22. Library timings and fine structure are displayed on the Library Notice Boards.
  23. Overnight issue is available for selected reference books.

The above rules are intended to regulate the best use of Library resources and will be reviewed periodically to meet the Changing needs. Any changes in the rules or instructions or information to members will be notified on the Library Notice Board as and when required.
